The other day, Alex and I finally made it to The Inn Season Cafe. It is a small, family owned cafe in Royal Oak. Opened over thirty years ago, the menu has always been vegan and vegetarian friendly with inspirations from Greektown, Mexican Village, and other Detroit culinary themes.
Today, the restaurant is still a busy place. The interior is decorated with paintings, older-styled furniture, and mismatching rugs, but comes together with a very homey feel.
This unique little cafe not only makes you feel at home, but also offers some of the best vegan and vegetarian food even meat-eaters find delightful and filling.
I ordered the “Organic free-range eggs baked with herbs, cheese, and seasonal vegetable. Served with smoked maple tempeh, and Yukon Gold potatoes and cornbread.” Alex ordered a special, a filo dough wrap filled with squash served with a heaping side of tofu scrambled with fresh veggies. Alex and I always try to get dishes that we can share between the two of us, and both of these dishes were great!
The Inn Season Cafe also offers a wide assortment of coffees, teas, and smoothies that will please anyone.
I am happy I finally got to go to this restaurant after hearing so many good things about it. It completely lived up to its high expectations. The food was amazing, the service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was very cozy!
Do you know of any amazing vegan or vegetarian restaurants? If you do, please share!!
