The connection between pilgrims on El Camino de Santiago is a huge part of what makes the experience so incredible. Along the way, I tried to capture some of these connected moments. The connections made between people from all over the world is what inspires me to travel!
This photo says a lot. On this evening, a women opened up her backyard to us pilgrims to cook a full dinner in the small town of Borres. Borres only had one small cafe, so the opportunity to cook was greatly appreciated by the pilgrims. This was one of the first evenings I really began to feel the forming bonds.
Connecting with others and connecting with nature’s beauty
Connecting in the kitchen — many nights us pilgrims would cook meals together
Deep connections on the camino — Along the way I met a few couples. One of these couples had met years earlier on a previous camino they did together
The common goal and completion of this goal is probably what created the strongest connection between strangers. In the beginning, I did not know anyone. Upon completion, I had made some of my best friends.
