London, England is a tremendous tourist destination. While I was there, I stayed with some friends and fellow travel bloggers, Jodie and JP. I had been on the road for a while before, so it was nice to enjoy some time with friends. London has something for everyone: shopping, great restaurants and bars, historical sites, and beautiful views. One of my all time favorite London attractions was the Camden Markets.
One of the top five largest markets in the world, Camden has an enormous array of shops. You can find anything here: unique odds and ends, clothing from all eras, and foods from all over the world to name just a few. There are rows upon rows of ethnic foods from around the world.
I was completely surprised by the sheer enormity of the market. It is a unique labyrinth of shops and stalls converging and diverging from one another. I strolled through the market in awe of the various goods for sale. I came home from Camden with a couple of journals that I found at a small India themed shop. To this day I regret not buying a tapestry that had all the zodiac signs on it from the same shop.
There are also different sections within the market that are known for certain things. There is one section that’s claim to fame is the large horse statues.
All and all if you are looking for something that is a little out of the ordinary, Camden is probably the place to find it. Plus, it is a great place to visit even if you aren’t in need of any bizarre oddities. And no matter what draws you to Camden, don’t forget to grab some great food from one of the vendors!
